Knight Eady is on the hunt for two people to step into crucial roles in our event and operations department. We’re looking for a Vice President of Operations and Assistant Director of Operations.Both roles will support the entire portfolio of Knight Eady clients by assisting with the oversight and execution of events in addition to supporting the operational needs of the organization as a whole. VICE PRESIDENT OF EVENTS

This position, under the supervision of the President and a member of Knight Eady’s senior leadership team, will manage the Events, Internal Operations, and Business Office functions of Knight Eady including personal oversight and execution of individual events and client relationships along with supporting the operational needs of the organization as a whole.

  • Supervision of all staff contributing to events, internal operations, and the business office, including providing support for their assignments as well encouraging growth and personal development of each employee.
  • Represent the interests of events on all internal committees, working groups, and projects as necessary to ensure proper representation and contributions are made on behalf of the events staff.
  • In collaboration with the Business Office staff, contribute to the organization in the area of business office functional areas to include, but not limited to, accounting software (QuickBooks) maintenance, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll and benefits administration, company credit card management, cash flow projections, corporate insurance, and other roles as assigned.
  • Oversee the planning and execution of events as assigned to include, but not limited to, pre-event meetings, development of event manuals or information packets, coordination of Knight Eady staff and resources, set up and breakdown of facility, coordination of event staff, and emergency preparedness to include medical staff and procedures.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for Knight Eady in the area of contracts and insurance to include draft agreements, specifications, contract terms, evidence of insurance coverage, and other related functions.
  • Coordinate with internal staff along with external transportation and logistics vendors to ensure that all necessary events related supplies and equipment are transported or shipped to venues in a timely manner.
  • Contribute to the organization and management of all rented or purchased Knight Eady equipment, supply inventory, and storage areas.
  • Support the fiscal efficiency efforts of Knight Eady by monitoring and overseeing event budgets as assigned as well as demonstrating ethical and efficient spending of day-to-day organizational funds.
  • Promote the revenue generation work of Knight Eady by supporting new and existing business development functions including proposals, sponsorship sales, ticket sales, etc.
  • Maintain working knowledge of various sport rules, regulations, and best practices for operating events under the guidance of different sports governing bodies including the National Federation of High Schools (NFHS), National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), United States of America Gymnastics (USAG), etc.
  • This position will require working an adjusted schedule including evenings, weekends, and travel as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of seven (7) years of demonstrated experience in a sports organization, advertising agency, or other fast paced environment that would translate to a small business setting focused on sports related agency services and event management. Equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute.
  • Interested candidates should be prepared to demonstrate their ability to utilize independent judgment and discretion in the planning and execution of sporting events and oversight of business operations in a small business environment.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and the ability to lift objects over 35 pounds.

This is a full time position and will be compensated with a competitive salary and benefits package based on qualification and experience of the candidate.

ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF EVENTS

This position, under the supervision of the Director of Events, will support the entire portfolio of Knight Eady clients by assisting with the oversight and execution of events in addition to supporting the operational needs of the organization as a whole.

  • Oversee the planning and execution of events as assigned to include, but not limited to, pre-event meetings, development of event manuals or information packets, coordination of Knight Eady staff and resources, set up and breakdown of facility, coordination of event staff, and emergency preparedness to include medical staff and procedures.
  • Develop organizational processes necessary to ensure all event operations areas are addressed and executed including parking, credentialing, ticketing, security, and other roles as assigned.
  • Assist with all aspects of the Mobile Marketing Unit (MMU) division of Knight Eady to include, but not limited to, facilitation of modification and maintenance of vehicles, planning and execution of individual stops/events, purchasing and inventory of equipment and supplies, and coordinating 3rd party vendors and services to support MMU activities.
  • ·Coordinate with internal staff along with external transportation and logistics vendors to ensure that all necessary events related supplies and equipment, are transported or shipped to venues in a timely manner.
