National Senior Games

Birmingham is hosting the 30th annual Senior Games in June of 2017 and Knight Eady could not be more honored to be their event partner with this event. The games, a 19-sport biennial competition for men and women age 50 and older, is the largest multi-sport event in the world for seniors. The events range from team sports such as basketball and volleyball to individual sports including golf, archery, bowling, cycling and a triathlon. With the exception of two states, all are a part of the National Senior Games organization. They hold annual games with qualifying competitions each year preceding the National Games. Previous host cities include Houston TX, Cleveland OH, Orlando FL, and Baton Rouge LA. This event will attract an anticipated amount of at least 12,000 athletes and their friends and family to the city and will allow out-of-state visitors to see the positive growth that Birmingham has seen as of recently. Knight Eady will help secure venues and sites across the city for all 19 events and ceremonies, will coordinate with city officials and the CVB, work with volunteers, assist with securing transportation and lodging for athletes, and market the event within Birmingham. Knight Eady was excited to officially announce the event, along with the Senior Games executive staff and board, at the Vulcan Museum in February of 2016 and is looking forward to bringing this special event that focuses on healthy and active living to the city of Birmingham.
