For those who aren’t familiar, the Birmingham Education Foundation is dedicated to increasing the number of students in the Birmingham City Schools that are on the path to college, career and life readiness. They provide direct programming for students and fun interactive opportunities for Network (supporting) members to build relationships and strengthen existing ones with students. There are already many key programs in place that are instrumental in garnering support from the students and from the network of supporters to grow the foundation including Network Night, Career Development Conference, College 101 and Bridging the Gap. However, since the Ed Foundation’s inception in 2007, they have not had a signature fundraising event in Birmingham. Keeping in the Ed Foundation’s style of being unique, fun, and creative, the Ed Foundation approached Knight Eady about a fundraising event that would incorporate the students and community. Together we collaborated on an idea – The Ed Foundation Game Night – which was held for the first time at the Lyric Theatre on March 22nd 2016 and again in October of 2016 at the Alys Stephens Center on the UAB Campus. The focus is specifically on one particular game show, Family Feud. Students from the Birmingham City Schools are chosen to compromise a team along with corporate leaders across the city. Depending on where the students place in the game, they will receive a donation towards a higher education scholarship. Knight Eady feels very privileged to partner with the Ed Foundation as the organization clearly touches on many of our core values including innovate and reinvent continuously, lead with a servant’s heart and pursue growth and learning. Knight Eady is responsible for all of the marketing and branding related to the event as well as the event operations, logistics, staging and design.
