Knight Eady launching new sports technology conference Sloss Sport

Knight Eady is launching Sloss Sport, a sports technology summit celebrating the convergence of sports and technology. The summit features industry leaders and experts from across the country coming together to share their knowledge and experience and create a dynamic conversation about innovation in sports.

The conference is the first of its kind in Birmingham and one of the few technology conferences in the southeast region. Knight Eady conceptualized the event out of a desire to bring awareness to the thriving sports market in Birmingham and aims to establish Sloss Sport as a destination for sports professionals, scholars and enthusiasts from across the country.

The speaker list for Sloss Sport features some of the top names in the industry, with Benjamin Alamar, director of sports analytics at ESPN, headlining the event as the keynote speaker. Other confirmed appearances include the director of special projects/assistant director, player development for the Chicago Cubs, Bobby Basham; KultureCity's Founder/CEO, Julian Maha; senior producer for the Charlotte Hornets, James Raymond Ziegelbauer III; Bleacher Report's app and analytics specialist; Edgar Walker and ATI Physical Therapy’s director of corporate communications, Cliff M. O’Neal. Additional speakers will be announced leading up to the event.

“This event brings together representatives from some of the top sports organizations across the country,” said Knight Eady Co-Founder Michael Eady. “Birmingham is one of the strongest sports markets in the nation, and the launch of Sloss Sport is just another example of how this city is proving itself to be a national sports destination.”

“The city of Birmingham is thrilled to host this innovative summit,” said Mayor Randall Woodfin. “Sloss Sport presents a great opportunity to showcase our city on a national stage, and we look forward to seeing the impact the summit will have on the city, state and nation in the years to come.”

Knight Eady continues to focus on creating and hosting events at the forefront of innovation in sports, as positive progress in the sports industry is ultimately beneficial in bringing more people together.
